Cambodia News, Siem Reap: A Mongolian tourist drowned in a tragic swimming accident on Mount Kulen, at the third waterfall in Preah Ang Thom village, Khnong Phnom commune, Siem Reap province. The incident took place on July 25, 2022 at 12:30 pm.
According to the same source, the victim was a 25-year-old Mongolian male tourist named GANZORIG MYAGMARDORJ. They said that prior to the incident, the tourist was visiting Preah Ang Thom Waterfall with his girlfriend from Mongolia and a Pass App tuktuk driver.

Arriving at the waterfall, the three of them were playing in the water together. After playing for 15 minutes, the victim helped his girlfriend to stay on one bank and then swam out where the water is deep. He became tired, and tried to grab and haul himself on to a rock, but because the rock was slippery, the victim slid back into the water and sank.
The tuktuk driver tried to grab the victim's hand, but could not get a grip, so he shouted for help to the other tourists nearby. Unfortunately, they could not rescue him in time, and the young man drowned; the body was not recovered until over 30 minutes after he disappeared. RIP.
