Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: At 9:30am on July 17, 2022, three male suspects on two motorbikes snatched a necklace from a man while he was sitting on a motorbike, waiting for his wife who was shopping at the market. The snatching occured outside the market at the point of the concrete road in Kbal Damrey 2 village, Khan Por Sen Chey in Phnom Penh.

The three thieves tried to escape on their motorbikes, but the victim, Heng Phally, a 28 year old factory worker, shouted out for help, and the robbers were pursued by an angry mob of market goers. One of the gang was caught after 100 metres by citizens who blocked his escape and then beat him up before the police intervened. However, the other two men got away with the stolen necklace.

The captured suspect's name is Sreng Bali, male, 21 years old, unreliable occupation, living in Factory Village, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Khan Sen Sok. He was interrogated by the Criminal Division of the Police Inspectorate of Po Sen Chey.
