Family on Motorbike Swept Away in Flash Flood

Cambodia News (Pursat Province): A tragic accident occurred on July 12, 2022, at 6:15 pm on National Road 55 between kilometers 155 and 156, when 3 members of a family on a motorbike, 1 man, 1 women and a child, were swept away into the Steung Kach river by a flash flood in Ekapheap village, Thmor Da commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province.
On July 14, at 12:00 pm the police received a report about 2 dead bodies found by the river. The bodies found were Chea Sokkhoeurn, a 39-year-old man, and Ly Chantha called Chhieng Mai, a 3-year-old girl, the daughter of the victim. The other lost victim, whose body hasn't been located yet, is Chan Pheakdey, a 35-year-old woman who was also 7 months pregnant.
The family were all from Chherteal village, Tnoat Chom commune, Krokor district, Pursat province. The motorbike they were on was a Honda Dream (Pursat 1I-7548).
The 2 bodies found were given to the relatives for the funeral and the authorities continued searching for the missing woman.
