Not such a bad idea.Doc67 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 5:18 pm If the Tories have any sense they should go on bended knee and ask Theresa May do step up for a couple of months while the leadership election runs it's course. She knows the job, is trusted and well known by all the top officials and is not in the running for the job.
I have very little faith in any of the current (whatever’s left), party potentials. Are there any left?
Maybe it’s time to let the right wing commies on the other side of the pit take a stab at it?

Not quite. But his days as PM are numbered.Atmywitsend wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 7:18 pm He has resigned as leader of the Conservative Party.

Generally speaking, I'm against the death penalty and all that, but that idiot's head really should end up on a stick on Tower Bridge.
He's got the very best and most expensive education money can buy, and yet, he's pissed it away and made a total mockery of his office.

Boris was certainly the UK's Trump in terms of scandals, controversies and thinking that the title gave him free rein to do whatever the hell he liked.
Now that he's gone / going, I am certain even more revelations will start to come out of the woodwork as to what really went on during his premiership, such as who he associated with, what favours he did for them and all other manner of wrongdoings. It's already being reported that he had private meetings with Russian oligarchs - (it was required that he should have been accompanied by other officials at the time)
We were warned by those that were or had been close to him that he was unfit for office, but we all fell for the Boris charm. His claim that he had the mandate to stay on as PM due to his overwhelming majority in the 2019 election holds no water as the public were clearly not aware of the extent of his incompetence and corrupt nature at that time.
Good riddance to him. He single handedly bought UK politics to a low that I've never seen in my lifetime.
And not a single minister who backed him and defended him deserves their job back - regardless of whether they were one of the ones who resigned or not.

Don't worry folks the Tories will just sit around in their clubs in St James and find another Eton / Oxbridge old boy to make sure the rich keep getting richer and the awful "royal" family, hangers on etc keep getting their divine rights. History teaches us that when it comes to politics and marriages, humans are not a learning species. One of the top candidates, Rishi Sunak - not English but 1st generation British, billionaire, involved in enough scandals already, resigned this week to force Boris out so he could have a crack at the job himself. Thats the sort of integrity the people will vote for.

You got them , but not in England.
Between Shinzo Abe & Sri Lanka, top people are falling down for various reasons.
