Lithuanian Man Charged with Transgender Murder

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

SURIN: Police have pressed three charges against a Lithuanian man in connection with the death of his transgender girlfriend whose body was found in a locked room at her house in Prasat district.

Marius Kunickas faces charges of physical assault causing death, concealment of a body and theft. Additional charges are possible pending the outcome of DNA tests.

Mr Kunickas, 31, is currently being detained at the Prasat police station in Surin, where police brought him after his arrest in Pattaya early Thursday. On Saturday they were seeking court approval to detain him for an initial period of 12 days while they continue their investigation.

The Lithuanian man is suspected of involvement in the murder of his transgender girlfriend Thiraphong Lamluea. He has denied the charges.

The body of Thiraphong, 31, was found inside a closed room at her two-storey house in tambon Kang-an around 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The body was wrapped in a thick blanket that left her legs bare. There was a strong smell and it was believed she had been dead at least a week, said Pol Capt Sanee Chimngam, a duty officer at the Prasat station.

During questioning, Mr Kunikas denied murdering Thiraphong even though witness statements and surveillance camera video focused on him as the culprit.

Foreigner suspected of killing trangender in Thailand

Pattaya police have detained a Lithuanian man whose transgender girlfriend was found murdered in a locked room in his home in Surin, the Bangkok Post reported. Earlier it was reported that the man was a Russian national, but police have identified the man as Lithuanian national Marius Kunitzkas.

According to the newspaper, the man was tracked down by a signal from a mobile phone he allegedly took from his dead lover. The suspect was traced at a beach in Pattaya around noon on Thursday, said National Police Deputy Chief Gen Damrongsak Kittiprapas. Police officers immediately arrested the man.

During interrogation, the Lithuanian man cried and confessed that he had quarrelled with the dead transgender man. The detention team found a bruise on the man’s nose. During a search of the Lithuanian national, the victim’s mobile phone was found in his possession.

The suspect was reportedly taken to the northeastern province of Surin for DNA testing. If the sample taken from the Lithuanian matches the evidence found at the crime scene, the man will be formally arrested and charged with murder, the police said.

Thirapthong’s mother, Vandi Lamluyea, 47, said neighbours informed her that a foul smell similar to that of a dead animal was coming from her son’s house. The mother of the deceased called rescue workers to get inside and inspect the house. They found traces of hair and blood stains on the floor, as well as drag marks leading to the door to the next room. The mother opened the door and saw the body of her son, a transgender man, lying under a blanket.

Vandi revealed that Thirapthong also has a British boyfriend. They have known each other for seven years, but the British man left for his home country and did not return to Thailand for a long time. The woman suspects that the “Russian man” was jealous.

Well, one was trying to cope with the loss of his ex UK atm boyfriend by having a replacement atm (otherwise why westerners ?) relationship i guess, and the other one was testing his own inclination to men with tits as well as his punching ability under jealousy stress. Then he tried to hide the victim, grabed a free phone, and seemingly lost track of the most efficient plan to get the fuck out of the country asap, therefore letting a big chance to the police to catch him, fortunately.

Now probably trying to cope with the perspective of sweating an uncertain amount of time amongst other quality people like him, minus the language to kill some of the long time ahead of him.

It could be worse for him. It might.
Can't be worse for the victim & family, sadly.

Experiments. Try them home first, see how it goes ^^

I would have preferred a real Russian villain, not this fake Lithuanian "Russian". RIP to the deceased in any case, what are the odds that a proper DNA test can and will be performed in Surin of all places?
