Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Image
A foreign man, suspected of being drunk, was involved in an accident in Phnom Penh early this morning.

The incident happened at 12:20 AM on June 19, 2022, along Sihanouk Blvd and Street 143 in Sangkat Boeung Prolit, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh.

According to sources at the scene, the foreign man was seen driving a black Range Rover erratically and at at high speed.

Losing control of his vehicle, he smashed into a road divider – breaking a wheel on his luxury car.

He then continued to travel for 50 metres before coming to a stop.

Onlookers tried to help him, but he refused to get out of the car and instead engaged in a phone conversation.

After the incident, local police arrived removed the vehicle to the Land Traffic Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, waiting for a legal settlement.

What have they pixelated? Is he giving the camera a rude gesture with his left hand?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Those road dividers save lives, if it wasn't them it would be oncoming traffic

His seatbelt? The last thing we want is a positive safety message coming out of this.

As for the broken wheel; I humbly suggest that the reporter take a short class in motor mechanics, or get a better thesaurus.
