2 Youths Arrested for Attacks on Chinese Men in Poipet

Cambodia News (Banteay Meanchey Province): 2 teenage boys on a motorbike were arrested for sword attacks on Chinese men on 2 occasions in Poipet.

-The first occasion was on June 10, 2022, at 10:31 pm when they attacked Zhou Dongke, a 22-year-old Chinese man on the right elbow and chest in front of Nokor Reach hospital in Kbal Spean 1 village, Sangkat/city Poipet. The victim, who works and stays in Phoenix Casino, was being treated at the hospital.
-The second occasion was on the same day after the first attack, when the two drove their motorbike to strike Wang Jian, a 33-year-old Chinese man on the right shoulder in Kbal Spean 1 village, Sangkat/city Poipet. The victim, who stays and works at the Jiuzhou Hotel, was treated at the Poipet health center.

On June 11, 2022, at 10:15 pm after tracking the suspects down on the CCTV footage, the authorities arrested Teu Chamroeun called Mern, a 17-year-old boy from Palilai 1 village, Sangkat/city Poipet, and Chea Lihout called Hout, a 16-year-old boy from Kbal Spean 2 village, Sangkat/city Poipet. 1 sword, 1 Zoomer X motorbike(Banteay Meanchey 1P-9446) were seized.

After interrogation, the suspects admitted to attacking the victims due to jealousy over their ex-girlfriends who broke up with them to date other men. It is not clear whether the victims are the "other men" in the situation, or whether they were chosen at random by the angry teenagers, but both victims were Chinese nationals.

Chinese really seem to get a bad rap. Makes me concerned about spending an extended period there.

Who in their right mind doesn't believe having someone convince your girlfriend to leave you for them justifies a good hacking with a machete !!!!

I think the justified was referring to spending time in China, hope I'm right, otherwise your remarks are spot on
