Family Member Attacked with Knives for Pawning Kettle

Cambodia News (Kompong Speu Province): On June 2, 2022, a father and son were arrested and sent to the First Instant Court of Kompong Speu province for an armed assault on a 43-year-old man called Uy Born from Thmey village, Prey Vihear commune, Kong Pisey district, Kompong Speu province.
The victim of the attack was a family member, brother and uncle, of the attackers, Chen Vuth, 49 years old, and Chen Von, 25 years old. They said in their defense that the attack was provoked by the victim who took their electric kettle to pawn for money without their consent, so they slashed him with knives.
The suspects and the evidence are being held in custody for trial.
