Chinese Drunk Driver Injures Women in Svay Rieng Accident

Cambodia News, (Svay Rieng Province): Two female workers were injured due to a horrific traffic accident when two cars collided with each other and then hit two other motorcycles at 2:19 pm on May 29, 2022 on National Road No. 1 between km 158-159 in Prey Pdao village, Chrakmtes commune, Bavet city, Svay Rieng province. The accident was caused by careless drunk driving.

According to Bavet City Police, the victims were two women aged 27 and 23 years old, who were riding a white Honda SCOOPY motorcycle with license plate number 1R-3609 when they were caught up in the accident.

Before the incident, a drunk Chinese man was driving a SIENA car, with license plate Phnom Penh 2BA-2020, on National Road No. 1 in the direction from west to east when he collided with another car. The driver has been identified as is MOU GANGYAN, male, 46 years old, Chinese, Occupation: Employee of Chi Lu Company, Residence: Svay Toeur Village, Sangkat Svay Toeur, Svay Rieng City.
The collision between the two cars then caused a collision with two motorcycles. The two women victims were taken to Svay Rieng Referral Hospital for treatment. One of them is seriously injured.

The Chinese driver, MOU GANGYAN was taken to the Bavet City Police Inspectorate for questioning and the vehicles were towed away by police.

Another accident injuring two women on a motorbike, also caused by a drunk Chinese driver, occurred in Phnom Penh a few days after the above incident. The two women are in hospital.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 9:40 pm on June 1, 2022, in front of Por Sen Chey District Hall on Russian Federation Blvd., Sangkat Kakab 1, Khan Po Sen Chey, a Honda CRV (PNH 2S-4029) driven by a drunk Chinese man smashed into a street divider, and then hit a Honda Scoopy (PNH 1IX-6459) driven by 2 women who were seriously injured. The victims were taken to the nearby hospital.

The drunk driver and the damaged vehicles were taken to the police station for further proceedings.
