Guy Gets Bashed for Complaining about Two Missing Screws
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 6:00 pm on May 21, 2022, at a phone shop called Ly Heng situated in Khan Po Sen Chey, Phnom Penh, 31-year-old Phorn Samnanng, a construction worker, was beaten up by the phone shop owner when he went to make a complaint.
The worker had taken his phone to the shop to get fixed a week earlier, and according to him, he didn't check his phone afterwards. However, when he took his phone out of the phone case to use it a week later, he found that 2 screws were missing from the phone, so he went to confront the phone shop owner, accusing him of stealing the two screws, and the two men got into a fight.
The shop owner got really angry and started assaulting the victim with an iron bar. As a result, the victim suffered a head injury that required 5 stitches, as well as some bruises on the body, and injuries on his arms.
The phone shop owner was arrested and held in custody for further proceedings, and he agreed to pay 900USD to the victim as compensation for his injuries.

Either screws are very expensive in Cambodia or the guy is totally bonkers

Or it’s lost a bit in translation (both original story, and the Khmer/English translation), and the phone shop simply did a gash job? Not entirely usual.jaynewcastle wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 10:11 pm " he found that 2 screws were missing from the phone, so he went to confront the phone shop owner, accusing him of stealing the two screws "

Some people just don't want to admit they've made a mistake.
Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

He should know that a screw you miss out on you never get back.

Seems like the shop owner has a couple of screws loose.

To be fair; the victim looks very punchable and the old "I didn't use it for a week and then I saw two screws were missing" is at best a rather tenuous story - I don't believe it and the owner probably didn't eitherCEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 10:07 pm

He would have been better calling the piggies though, rather than beating the dude with a metal bar

Its actually very common with internal screws at least that they only put back enough to keep it together and save the rest for other repairs.

Just a scenario! You have recently bought a smartphone from the shop, the phone has a fault, such has the phone screen is flickering.
So, the shop owner comes around to your side of the counter, and starts bashing a customer who claims that 2 screws are missing from his phone. The guy is laying in the gutter of the road after being wacked by a metal bar, with now the owner on the return to the counter, with a tight grasp of the bar in his hand.
"Can I help you Sir?", the voice of the young lady sale's assistant on the other side of the counter. "No, I was only browsing" was the reply.

Always "hope" but never "expect".
