Battambang - PP road
Anyone took a bus to or fro Battambang recently? I am wondering about the driving times and especially how a bus trip went. Thanks!
Re: Battambang - PP road
Not the bus but by truck
Its really bad in a few portions of the road, mainly when you're first leaving pp but gets extremely good closer to pursat you get

Pursat is 200km away, that's a long way on a bad road. May be better getting the slow train.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

The train leaves Phnom Penh at 7AM and gets to Battambang at 2PM.
The view from the train is much better than you would get from a bus or taxi. As an added bonus, you are able to get up and walk around the train. There is a toilet, but this is a little primitive but perfectly functional and western. Currently, there is no food being sold on the trains, But, I am guessing this will change in the future too. I think I would grab water and a pate baguette to go on the train so you can have something to eat on the train. There is food and drink sold at the stations, the stops being Pursat and Kampong Chhnang at present. You will have to be quick though.

Either way it's a bumpy highway verses a smooth track.Jerry Atrick wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 3:10 pmDunno - not a bus traveller either - prefer my own driving
