Gimbal/I phone stabilser

Post by tightenupvolume1 »

I am looking to buy a gimbal for filming with my I phone on the streets. There are lots out there ranging from about £50 up to £200. Anybody have any advice on the various types on the market ?
cheers

Gimbal Review used to be a good review site for this, but hasn't updated for several years. Some models are still on the market though and the buyers guide holds valid general info so so it might still be worth to have a look: https://www.gimbalreview.com/

Thank you, I looked at a similar UK site and saw a couple for around £70 that look ok. I don't need it for a while yet so if I don't get any tips here I will just take a chance.

I have one at home but the newer iPhones (or higher end Android phones) are so good at stabilising footage on their own, I rarely use it, and even when I do, it's difficult to notice the difference. I think it's called the DJI Osmo Mobile 3.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

My mate is a cameraman, he said the DJI is legit: https://www.dji.com/nl/om-5?site=brandsite&from=nav

He uses a Zhiyun one for work.

My son has one of these DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Combos. He's had it a couple of years so it's not that new but it's a great piece of kit.

This Mobile 5 is the updated version:

Silence, exile, and cunning.
