1-Ton Bomb Fished Out River in Central Phnom Penh

1-Ton Bomb Fished Out River in Central Phnom Penh
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): According to HE Heng Ratana, Director of the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), on May 5, 2022, the specialized force of the CMAC inspected and cleared a bomb dropped from AN-M66 (or AN-M34) aircraft. It was found while restoring sediment at the bottom of the river near the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh and in front of the Royal Palace.
"The shell which was dropped from the AN-M66 aircraft weighed nearly 1,000 kilograms and contained more than 500 kilograms of highly hazardous, US-made shells and war remnants."[HE Heng Ratana said]. It has been removed from the area safely.
