Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 10:00 pm on April 19, 2022, on Street 283 in front of Vireak Buntham transport company in Sangkat Boeung Kok 1, Khan Toul Kork, an unidentified Vietnamese man beat and shot at a tuk-tuk driver in an argument over extra payment. The tuk-tuk driver was a 36-year-old man named Phen Nu.

According to the driver, the suspect waved him down on the street for a ride to Orussey market to fetch 3 friends for an agreed fare of 10,000 riels. But, after that, the suspect asked to be driven to 3 different places including Depo market, Khmounh pagoda, and returned to where he was picked up.
So the driver then asked for another 20,000 riels payment for the extra distances, but the passenger refused to pay more. The suspect became agitated and started attacking the tuktuk driver with a stick, before taking a pistol and firing once toward the victim but he missed.

The suspect then fled the scene, but got caught and arrested and was held in the Sangkat Boeung Kok 1 police station for further investigation.
