Jimmy Savile : A British horror story

Post by Ghostwriter »

Just watched that on Netflix, 2- parts documentary, around 3 hours. Well made.

How chilling are the little phrases, attitudes and gestures that could have raised more than some eyebrows but didn't...

The guy visually looks creepy from any angle, and his eyes carry no warmness, it's quite not understandable that nobody felt that and sniffed him thoroughly long ago, but it seems that these things weren't believed to be important enough to dedicate a specific task force to look into it the proper way in the country at the time. It still probably wasn't in many countries around, i don't know if UK in particular was late or not on this compared to other countries.

What a mindfuck this must have been for the public of his shows, and i'm not even talking about the whole chain up to the direct victims and families.

He used his fame to raise millions of pounds for hospitals. That brought him to notice of important people like the iron lady and Prince Charles which then gave him respectability which then let him get away with a lot. People must have thought: 'it's inconceivable that a man who does all that charity work and good for the community could possibly do bad'. The great deception..

Yes a fascinating and well made documentary of a very complex man. You'll see all the clues and hints he dropped that weren't taken seriously. Plus he used his star power to definitely hide in plain sight. Recommended.
