Flour for breadmaking machine

Post by Doc67 »

A rather nice Panasonic bread making machine has fallen in my lap. I have used it once with some strong white flour from Super Duper at $3.45 for 1 kilo. 500g of flour for medium loaf, plus salt, sugar, yeast, butter are electricity and this is not going to be a cheap loaf.

Does anyone know a regular supply source for wholemeal bread making flour? I was thinking Thai Hout or Bayon but I am sure someone on here knows exactly where to get the basic supplies.

Many thanks in advance...

It's a bit far ($16 return in a car) and I don't want to have to buy a sackfull of the stuff, it'll end up with tiny wildlife moving in and having a feast.

A 5kg bag is ideal, that'll do 8-10 loaves.

When I get a bit more experienced with the machine I'll make you a gluten free loaf!

It won't go to waste, cause if it's a decent wholemeal , dark rye or whatever I will be your best customer, especially if it's a square loaf that I can put in the toaster.

Pre-covid I bought my flour from Angkor Market (in SR). They sometimes had Bob's Red Mill. Not cheap either but I like making my own bread and, as a Kraut, appreciate good bread.

But not as much as you love the sausage! #allegedly :D

Sorry my jokes are the wurst, I’ll get my coat!

On topic, tend to get that stuff reliably atThai Huot; the one TK has a good bakery ingredient section.

Maybe you could ask a PIzzeria to sell you some of their flour..whats good for pizza sure is not bad for bread. Add a drop of olive oil into the mix.
work is for people who cant find truffles

Not the British sausages so much though. Tasteless, unfathomable ingredients, and on the small side.

Oh, that's weird. I was permitted 3 thumbs up. I thought the first two didn't register so did a third. Then refreshed the page and got this. ^^^
