Chinese Busted for Fake Beer Ringpull Scam

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A Chinese news outlet in Cambodia has reported that two Chinese male nationals were sent to Phnom Penh Court on 4 April 2022 on charges of submitting fake Cambodia beer ringpulls to win prizes.

Both men live in Porsenchey, Phnom Penh, and on March 30, the Meanchey District Gendarmerie cooperated with the Phnom Penh City Criminal Division Police to arrest the two people at a gas station on No. 371 Road, Dongben Lake 2, Meanchey District, according to the allegations made by the representative of the Cambodia Beer Company.

It is understood that on March 15, a beer distributor in Sen Sok District reported to the police that three suspects brought in a box of winning beer pull rings and asked to redeem prizes in cash, but upon later inspection, the tabs were found to be fake. The same gang turned up again on 30 March with more ringpulls and the distributor called the police, who arrested the two Chinese men.

Duh.... upon re-reading the story it was determined later that the 1st bunch was fake.... Guess I'm the Gumpster today!
