A Chinese Man, a Nissan, a Road Divider, a Phone, a Thief and a Good Samaritan...

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

A Chinese Man, a Nissan, a Road Divider, a Phone, a Thief and a Good Samaritan...

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

A tale with no moral whatsoever:

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 2:00 am on April 3, 2022, on Russian Federation Blvd., Sangkat Sras Chok, Khan Daun Penh, an unidentified Chinese man was seen driving a Nissan pickup truck (PNH 2AS-0614). He apparently crashed into the road divider while he was reaching down to grab his phone off the floor of the car. The Nissan smashed up the road divider and came to an abrupt halt in the middle of the road.

The driver was quite shaken and stirred, but was not seriously hurt in the accident. However, meanwhile, a sneaky thief saw the accident occur, and he crept into the vehicle and stole the driver's phone and wallet while he was unconscious.
BUT then, fortunately, a good samaritan who was just passing by saw the thief in action, and he stopped him in mid-action and retrieved the stolen items, which were then restored to the Chinese driver.

The traffic police came to investigate the incident and towed the damaged vehicle to the police station for further proceedings. The impact destroyed 3 sections of the road dividers, but nobody was hurt in the accident. The Chinese man will pay for the damage to public property.

The road dividers do the job good
I wonder if there was a poll over the year, how many Cambodians vs Chinese vs other forigners who hit the road dividers.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
