Four charged with murder over MH17 crash
Took them long enough, wonder how Putin will react to this
International investigators on Wednesday charged four people with murder over the 2014 shooting down of flight MH17 above rebel-held eastern Ukraine in which 298 people were killed.
The Dutch-led team said it was going to prosecute Russian nationals Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinskiy and Oleg Pulatov, and Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko over the downing of the Malaysia Airlines plane.
https://www.msn.com/en-xl/europe/top-st ... ar-AAD6g5dThe suspects are likely to be tried in absentia, however, as the Netherlands has said Russia has not cooperated with the investigation and is not expected to hand anyone over.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Re: Four charged with murder over MH17 crash
Will be interesting to see how far this will go given the current situation in the Ukraine..
Australia launches legal action against Russia over MH17
Australia has launched legal action against Russia over the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in Ukrainian airspace eight years ago, an attack that left 298 people dead.
The legal move is a sharp escalation that confronts the Russian state, rather than individual perpetrators, over the deaths.
The move joins Australia and the Netherlands in formal proceedings against the Russian Federation in the International Civil Aviation Organisation in a bid to force a negotiation over compensation payments to the families of the victims.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison agreed on the legal action in a call with Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte on Monday in the belief there was “overwhelming evidence” to prove Russia was responsible under international law for the downing of the aircraft.
With Russian President Vladimir Putin and his government facing global sanctions over the invasion of Ukraine, the Australian and Dutch governments decided to take legal action directly against Russia to maximise pressure on the country, including on its struggling civil aviation sector.
Russia withdrew from negotiations with Australia and the Netherlands in October 2020 but now faces the legal pressure to return to the discussions, including on reparations worth millions of dollars, or face penalties imposed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation.
While the UN agency cannot order reparations to be paid, it could suspend Russia and impose indirect costs in global aviation.
