It's frustrating you try to get the latest news and all you get are opions and footage from days ago or year's ago, I'm giving up.
I'm standing up, so I must be straight.

I'm with Ukraine, but not with Zelensky. He is the reason for the invasion. No point showing strength when there's no other option. Great leaders have foresight, and all he portrayed was weakness in the months leading up to this.

Care to elaborate?

I followed your link to Twitter, which added no more info.
I followed the link to Reuters, which gives 2 short paras then tells me to register to read more. (yes registration is free but I don't need any more daily junk mail).

Instead of patting themselves on the back, one particular pro-Russia individual on here should look at unionpays limitations.

American Express followed Visa and Mastercard. Let’s see what Discover does.

I am still learning about this. Essentially, the sanctions against Russia push them closer to China. Nothing groundbreaking on my part of course. It just seems that western actions against Russia are causing new alliances (or strengthened old alliances) that could hurt the US and Europe in future.

i am confused;
10+ years ago people were travelling to Syria to fight and were condemned and often not allowed back to their own countries
now it seems foreign fighters are travelling to Ukraine to fight> ( and it seems have been since 2014)
....Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced last Sunday that he was establishing an "international" legion for foreigners to join if they would like to assist the country in its defense against Russia. In a Thursday video address, Zelensky said that 16,000 foreign volunteers were already on their way to fight alongside Ukrainians.
Putin says since they are not Ukrainian they will not be protected
....Russia threatened to bring "criminal" prosecution against any foreigners who travel to Ukraine to fight with the Eastern European nation as Moscow continues to press its internationally condemned invasion of the country.
so what is their legal status?

will we see a new international French foreign legion ( mercenaries ) emerge that will fight wars everywhere?
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Mercenaries have been around since militaries were established. How many operations involving the CIA in the Middle East, SE Asia, and South America involved hired personnel, or mercenaries, to engage in conflict? Hell, they use hired personal for protection at Embassies.

The issue with Syria is if the individual went and fought against their native homeland or their interests.

I haven’t done any research, but I am not aware of any law that prohibits someone from fighting in a foreign war if they are not in combat with their country or their interests, but I could be wrong.

On a side note, I don’t think Putin is protecting any Ukrainians.
