Putin is responding to a threat that has been on his radar for years. Does this justify Russia's actions? I am not sure.
The decontextualization of Putin's actions really irk me. He didn't just suddenly snap and attack the Ukraine.
Speculating here, but I think Putin may have a longing for a stronger, more glorious Russian empire. Reclaiming the Ukraine (or sections of it) may be part of that.
I doubt he will stop at Ukraine.
I think he is highly likely to use nuclear weapons to try and cow Europe into accept him as Tsar.

Same line as America First.
Both are Putin simps that seek to damage the fight against him for political advantage

And there's the Hitler reference.
Funny, both sides of this conflict accuse each other of being part of a political regime that was defeated in 1945.

Think 'Ivan the Terrible' aka John Demjanjuk a Ukrainian who served as a Nazi camp guard.

Makes me wonder how motivated and committed are Russian soldiers in this? Whilst Putin wants an invasion, is the army lock and step with that? And I gather the Ukrainians are much more committed...after all, it's their territory, freedom and national identity at stake..
