Suspectedly Drunk Police Officer Injures Motorcyclist

Cambodia News,Phnom Penh: A male police officer, suspected of being drunk, drove a car carelessly and hit a motorcycle from behind, causing serious injuries to the motorcyclist at 5:10 pm, on February 23, 2022 along the concrete road in Sangkat O Bek Kam, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh.
According to the uniform and identity card in the car of the driver, the name is Khlok Chun Pheng, ID number 59679, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

According to sources at the scene, before the incident, they saw a red and white BEAT motorcycle, with license plate Phnom Penh 1GK-9598, driven by a man traveling from north to south, when a silver Lexus RX330, driven by a man suspected of being drunk, traveling in the same direction, crashed into the motorcycle from behind at high speed. The man on the motorcycle was seriously injured and taken to hospital. The motorcycle was badly damaged in the back.

After the incident, the local police arrived and called the traffic police to the scene. After the competent authorities arrived, both parties were asked to negotiate compensation, with the car driver agreeing to pay $ 500 to the motorcyclist.
