Something just went bang

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

A common reason is when they change tires on trucks out on the road.

They will fill the tire with gas and set on fire as the explosion makes it mount itself. Its usually not that bad but when they do it on a city street it sounds alot like a bomb.

Thunder?
No, I posted that on Saturday, definitely sounded like a small explosion in the Riverside area. Must have been minor as nobody else heard it, and it wasn't followed up by any sirens or anything. Carry on.

Oh, and I wouldn't have posted if it wasn't noticeably out of the ordinary. My reaction was literally "wtf was that!?"

Someone lit a pretty big "fire cracker" outside the guesthouse I was staying at just recently that scared the hell out of me. I wasn't staying at the riverside at the time so not the same one, but I'm guessing that's what happened over in your area.
