Good hearts

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Khmer Language is very specific in many ways, but when it comes to dunes, hills, mountains and everything that's in between the general language lacks precision.

Had a "mishap" (back in the nineties, maaan.) which saw me having to find a generous soul willing to put me up for the night in Sihanoukville before working out how to get to Phnom Penh the next day as I didn't have a dime in my pocket. One guesthouse owner not only gave me a bed, he also fed me, bought a ticket on the following day's bus, and gave me the contact of a friend of his who had a guesthouse in Phnom Penh. I stayed at his friend's guesthouse in Phnom Penh for two days while I sorted things out and got some money wired - both guys were compensated for their generosity, of course.

There aren't many complete strangers anywhere in the world, in my experience, who would be as kind.

I once had a blow out on Highway 6, could not shift the last nut, a young couple pulled up and he tried, but to no avail. They rode off, half hour later they returned with a guy who had an extension bar to get more leverage on the nut, once removed I could change the wheel.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
