Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 2:00 am on January 27, 2022, on Russian Federation Blvd., Sangkat Teuk Thla, Khan Sen Sok, two Chinese men were riding on a tuk-tuk (Takeo 1R-9637) when two men on a motorbike attempted to snatch their iPhone 13 pro. The Chinese man resisted the thief, causing the tuk-tuk to flip over on to its side. The thieves then gave up, and escaped the scene leaving the victims with minor injuries.
The tuk-tuk driver took the two victims to the police station to report the incident.

The two victims seem to be a little shaken up over the incident, I would think the two guys were unlucky to find themselves in such a situation that could have potentially extremely harmful to all concerned. The tuk seems to have sustained damage, hope he was insured. Let's hope they catch the phone snatchers before they do this type of crime again.
I have had to take PassApp lately but once taking the ride always put my phone away. Its wise or common sense not to have valuables on show.

Were they sitting next to each other in the back of a tuk tuk at 2am? That's pretty gay.

The stretch of road off Russian Blvd between Engineering Uni/National Pediatric Hospital and down to Royal University of Phnom Penh is super dangerous for snatchers....They wait at the flyover light going towards the airport, phone to their buddies waiting on that dark stretch of road...They have you from the back and from the front....often with a 3rd clean up bike ....Been travelling that stretch for 10 years now...Hard to tell from thephotos if that happened near there...

Really? Seems like the normal method of riding in a tuk-tuk as a passenger.
Two males, one tuk-tuk, must be gay?

If they took a tuk tuk each would that of lessened the chance of an attempted phone snatch by 50%, or would it have been more like 100% there would have been 2 incidents? I vote travel with a friend if possible, and put the phones and valuables out of sight.

WTF is wrong with you? Where were they supposed to sit?
