Has there ever been one in Cambodia, maybe aimed at tourists and expats ?
There’s was (is) a few crappy travel booklets but never that popular because everyone uses online and they were always full of adverts.

same as maps
a good grilled, BBQ chicken, ( sans bones), som tom, sticky rice stand
and franchise the recipe.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

There was a bit of drama about who owned what and someone didn’t pay for the business or something, another one was sold off and the new owner closed it down.ItWasntMe wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:36 pmKampot Survival Guide I think is still a thingtruffledog wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:10 pmwhat happened to those Cambodia pocket guides that were lying around everywhere?mannanman wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:09 pmBayon Pearnik was a printed monthly affair then went online and then disappeared when they lost their sponsor/owner got sick/everyone was kicked out of SHV.tightenupvolume1 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:06 pm There are several expat newspapers in Spain and France, maybe elsewhere. I never really got the concept. 20 years ago maybe but not now. I still see old (or they might be new copies who knows!) lying around in various businesses especially in Kampot. There’s no way any young tourist would pick one up or use it.

A dairy that produces milk and butter and basic cheeses which I'm told is being done now but it has not affected the hold importers enjoy on that market. Then, also being done now but not to any scale; a fruit juice factory.

Found it online before coming to Kampot the first time and it led me straight to Red Bar and some excellent times.
Good laugh too!

Most people use FB or one of the multitude of online guides.
Do people use Lonely Planet anymore?

Re: If you could start any business in Cambodia..
I’m with Richard on the Thai food stand. Why has it not been done. We eat Korean chicken which is OK but Thai BBQ chicken is the best. Bangkok used to have the half drums with the chook split open and flat cooked over coals. The chicken recipes sold for ten thousand dollars or more back in the day. Cambodians in Australia love chillies and som tum almost as hot as the Thai.

Based on what I have been seeing in the tech news world, Cybersecurity Consultant. I know it is nothing as creative as what I am seeing here, but it seems like a real need in the region.
