Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A Chinese couple in a Porsche were shot at by a group of three people in an attempted robbery which took place at 10:05pm on January 15, 2022, in front of a condominium building on Street 41 (in front of the Malaysian Embassy) in Tonle Bassac, Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.

According to security sources at the condominium who witnessed the incident, prior to the incident, the two Chinese victims drove a white PORSCHE car with license plate Phnom Penh 2AF-8868 into the condominium where they were staying, and got out of the car and took the luggage out of the trunk. The security guard went to help the man to carry his luggage, when suddenly a suspect came from behind and sprayed the security guard's face and eyes with mace.

Two other suspects appeared, aimed a Zoraki pistol (906TD) at the husband, and fired off two shots, (one of which exploded, but nobody was hit), and fought with the wife, trying to grab the bag.
The gang then ran away, leaving behind a red Honda AirBlade motorcycle with license plate Kampong Speu 1F-7720, the gun, and the spray bottle. One of the suspects also shot at the security guard when escaping, but missed.

That's some inept criminality. Zorakis are blank guns. Seems the conversion didn't work too well. :?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

How common is it in Phnom Penh to have violent crime committed in front of an embassy?

As much as it is in front of Burger King?
How is that relevant. They just said it to give an idea of location.
