Security Guard Died from Serious Injuries in a Hit and Run Incident

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 12 January 2022, the relatives of the security guard victim, a pedestrian who was run down and killed by a car on 11 January 2022, were interviewed by Post News.
According to the victim's brother, the man was crossing the road when a white Mark Ford car hit the victim head-on, causing his death at 12:00 pm along Street 271, Sangkat Boeung Tumpun I, Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh.

The victim was 45 years old Chao Yan, who originated from Kirivong District, Takeo Province. The victim had no wife or children in his care, but his relatives urge the police to continue their search to bring the driver of the car to justice. The driver did not stop to assist the victim, but drove away at high speed to escape from the crime scene.

The deceased man was taken to Wat Sambour Meas pagoda in Dangkor commune, Dangkor district, Phnom Penh, for funeral rites. The victim's relatives are poor and have appealed to philanthropists to help fund the funeral, and they can be contacted directly at: 011 262030 and 067 232078.
