Prime Minister HE is due to preside over the inauguration of an 84.74km stretch of National Road 5 from Battambang province to northern neighbour Banteay Meanchey’s Sisophon town on January 10, Battambang Provincial Administration said in a statement.
The stretch of road was renovated by joint ventures Tekken-Taiyo and Daiho Asanuma, with technical inspections by the KEI-OCG-KCI Joint Venture, and in association with KCEC and TANCONS. The project began on March 26, 2018.
For the occasion, a segment in Thma Koul district’s Chrey commune – which borders Battambang town – will be closed off from 4am-12pm, from the main junction in Svay Chrum village to the exit towards Ma Chheut lake (currently marked as "Marchhit lake" on Google Maps) in Chrey Thmey village, the administration said.

Re: Opening of Renovated National Road 5, Battambang to Sisophon
Strange, I drove the in the beginning of December and it was already done (or at least in a very good condition, that let me think it is done). The part from Kampong Chhnang to Battambang is still a nightmare... (Oudong to Kampong Chhnang is one side completed)
Driving on Cambodian roads is just like playing a classic arcade top scroller. The only difference is a force feedback controller, the limitation to only one life and the inability to restart, once Game Over

Let's be honest here, the road isn't going to last a full year here before it looks like an Italian highway after WW2truffledog wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 9:33 pm not even 4 years for 85km..WOW !! nearly impossible in Italy.
