44 Rooms Burn in Factory Sleeping Quarters
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh) A fire occured on 21 December 2021, at 12:50 am in a factory dormitory made up of 44 rooms, in Borey Peng Huoth, Boeung Sno in Veal Sbov village, Veal Sbov, Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.
The owner, Suong Chanden, manager of the Borey Peng Huot workers' dormitory said that the building that caught fire was a 20-by-60-meter galvanized iron structure, which is divided into 44 rooms used as sleeping quarters by the factory workers.
Fortunately, the workers were able to escape the building unharmed, but a total of 18 fire trucks, equivalent to 94 cubic meters of water, were needed to extinguish the fire after one and a half hours.
The cause of the fire was not reported.
