Unfortunately the media will bury this because of the race of the attacker. But please if you have Thai friends let them know the big cities in the USA are not safe and they cannot treat they them like they do Bangkok. Walking around by your self is not advisable until this current crime wave situation is gotten under control. Hopefully the new mayor of NYC comes in and cleans things up, I think he will!

yeah, It would appear they buried this minor US based news story so well that we just about heard of it through a British publication while in South East Asia

if it was a White attacker it would be top of the hour on every cable news channel

When I was younger, I took the train in NYC at 4am as well but not in a while. Over the last few months I noticed some crazy people pushing others onto the tracks-- and this can be during the day.

May 2021 I was on Grand Jury Duty for a month in Brooklyn and we dealt with a few anti-Asian attacks. The attackers all seem to be male and have a screw loose or 2.

It made the new York times on the 15th and other papers so hardly burried

I have taken the NYC subway at 4AM a huge number of times, usually after 15-20 drinks. Never a problem on the trains, but I did get punched once in the back of my head when I was walking outside.

Things have gotten worse and an Asian lady needs to be particularly careful at the early hours. Yes, many of these anti-Asian attacks are done by crazy people - but there are plenty of crazies about in NYC during the late hours.
