Historic Deadly tornado outbreak
Historic Deadly tornado outbreak
Been happening all night and continuing now with Nashville tornado warned.
There were many tornadoes and multiple fatalities over many states.
Mayfield Kentucky is reporting at least 50 dead with damage anecdotally reported as EF 5

Re: Historic Deadly tornado outbreak
Frog news says it was about 20 to 30 tornados on the same day, on a territory roughly big as France, wtf ?!!
That's a whole different level from what i imagine as a tornado, the destruction images are damn impressive... Seems that only concrete building kept standing afterwise, all wooden stuff gone...
Spiraling fingers of chaos running randomly across the land, any day or night... Got to be a bit brave to choose to settle there.
What a huge beast...
It must have been quite scarily surreal at the time when people were travelling on horses and diligences, seiing stuff like that popping up on the horizon when crossing these territories...
Makes me think that indeed the Wizard of Oz story is a specifically important cultural thing there, in the meaning that it is a fantasy nice story about some real awful events occuring from time to time in the area...
Just like Ponyo is a nice fantasy cartoon about the awful tsunamis hitting Japan from time to time... Good to have something related in a nicer way to show to kids about it, to hopefully help ease the sorrow after such distress...
