For what it may be worth. I have just concluded sponsoring a young, unemployed, single mother, formerly employed in the Siem Reap Hospitality Industry, Hotel side of things prior to the devastating impact of Covid, to retrain as a ladies hairdresser and beautician.Cam.O'Dear wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:27 pm As the heading says . are there any schools in PP for girls to learn hair dressing ?
It worked this way. The five month training course cost US$500 and took her in to an active salon in Siem Reap as a trainee.
This involved an up front deposit fee of US$150 followed by monthly payments of US$100 and a final US$50 payment. She was totally unpaid throughout her training period but received good individual training and was able to live free of charge on the salon premises apart from providing her own food. A trainer was allocated specifically to her. Initially, she did everything as instructed but as her skills and techniques improved she was increasingly encouraged to perform all tasks under observation of her supervisor trainer.
The woman in question is now taking a month's break to be with her young daughter and will return to working as a "Junior" at a salon to consolidate her training and experience to date on a small wage.
Not sure if this helps you or not but I suggest you or the person concerned goes and talks to a number of busy/active salons and see what trainee opportunities may exist.
