Ghislaine Maxwell arrested by FBI on charges related to Jeffrey Epstein

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Sound like control freaks..

Bizarre list of banned words and phrases in Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘household manual’

The 58 page manual was recently submitted as evidence in the ongoing trial of Epstein’s longtime girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.

Workers at Jeffrey Epstein’s home were told how to speak, smile at all times, no direct eye contact, never say “yeah.”

Epstein’s longtime housekeeper, Juan Alessi, interpreted the strict household guidelines as “a kind of warning that I was supposed to be blind, deaf, and dumb,” according to his testimony at Maxwell’s trial on Thursday, Insider reported.

“Remember that you see nothing, hear nothing, say nothing, except to answer any question directed toward you,” Alessi read from the manual during his testimony.

Banned words and phrases that workers in the house were forbidden from using include:

“Yeah”
“Sure”
“No problem”
“You bet”
“Gotcha”
“Right”
“I dunno”

Instead, workers were encouraged to say things like “my pleasure,” “I would be very pleased to,” and “You are quite right.” “What you say is as important as what you do,” the manual reads. “Your language must include good diction and exclude swear words and slang. Pay attention to how you speak to Mr Epstein, Ms Maxwell and their guests.” Other directions in the manual include what to say when entering a room, how to respond to a compliment or criticism, and how to answer the telephone.

[Best of all..]

Household staffers at Jeffrey Epstein’s Florida mansion were always instructed to leave a gun in his bedroom.

“Gun placed in [bedside] table drawer,” reads part of a checklist of instructions for the master bedroom of the sprawling home under a section in the 58-page manual called “PRE-ARRIVAL PREPARATIONS.”

The heavily-detailed manual also commanded staff to “never disclose” what Epstein or Maxwell were doing.

“Unless otherwise instructed, NEVER disclose Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell’s activities or whereabouts to anyone,” read an order from the manual.

I rarely recommend the Guardian, (it makes me puke) but here are a few well written snippets from inside the current crime scene > the Fed courthouse.

A cocktail party from hell: In court with Ghislaine Maxwell, the society princess

The lady in the white mask is quite the gracious host, mwah-mwahing her pals, hugs-a-go-go, writing thoughtful little Post-it notes, blessing her set with her exclusive attention.
Only this is not a gathering of socialites over canapés, but a child sexual abuse trial, and her friends are fancy lawyers, and the people who once served and allegedly serviced her and her ex-lover Jeffrey Epstein, body and soul, seem to be in no mood for mwah-mwah.
Welcome to the cocktail party from hell.

Her lawyers are good: they swagger well for the big money she is paying them. The prosecution are younger, thinner, paler, mostly women. Their prose is flatter.

Maxwell is the daughter of the late Robert Maxwell – mad, rich and a monster who abused everyone around him, including his ninth child, Ghislaine.
Robert Maxwell fell off his yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, in 1991. Disgrace followed when it emerged that the tycoon had stolen about £400m from the Mirror Group’s pensioners.

Overnight, Maxwell lost her access to private jets and helicopters and limousines and fancy dinner parties. She fled London to New York and found Epstein. He was the second monster in her life. She got it all back – the private jets and helicopters and limousines and fancy dinner parties with Bill Clinton and Donald Trump etc.
And in return, all she had to do, the prosecution alleges, was to find him fresh children.

Staged in the grand US federal court building in a half-empty Manhattan, it is a grimly fascinating study,
If you side with the defence, in false memory syndrome and gold-digging.
Or, if you favour the prosecution, how power and money robbed a whole series of victims – each more child than woman – of their innocence and pretty much got away with it

What will the jury make of all this? The #MeToo generation of young women does not appear to be represented at all, a result, perhaps, of the defence gaming the jury selection process.
The jurors appear to be largely young men of colour and elderly, not well-off white women – the kind of people I see on my subway train.
You can see the trick the defence has played, and then you reflect that these are exactly the kind of people who have spent their whole lives cleaning up rich people’s shit.
If so, that does not bode well for the mwah-mwah princess in the dock.

full piece ^^

Friday lunchtime I hurried off to get a bite to eat in a nearby coffee shop. Sitting at another table, on his own, was Maxwell’s brother Kevin. I last saw him in the flesh in 1996 when, reporting for the Observer, he and his older brother, Ian, were found not guilty of helping their father, Robert, steal £400m from the Mirror Group pensioners.
They had fancy lawyers too. The Maxwells have a history of getting off and – all over the world, but especially in the US – money can trump justice.

The trial continues.

Jeffrey Epstein needed sex ‘about three times a day’, jury hears

New York: Ghislaine Maxwell spoke in a baby voice and outsourced sex acts for her boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein because she couldn’t keep up with his all-consuming libido, an anonymous witness told a jury at the British socialite’s trial.

“She said he needed to have sex about three times a day,” the witness, who testified under the pseudonym “Kate”, told jurors in the Manhattan federal court on Monday (Tuesday AEDT).

The witness remembered how Maxwell once asked “if I knew anybody” who would perform oral sex on Jeffrey “because it was a lot for her”.

Kate said her understanding was that Maxwell was Epstein’s girlfriend and was responsible for taking care of his needs — and “making sure everything was the way Jeffrey liked it to be”.

Also on Tuesday AEDT, prosecutors displayed bank records showing that Epstein wired Maxwell upward of $US30 million ($42 million) in three transactions in 1999, 2002 and 2007.

The big question: will she take the stand??

The following suggests she probably won't but you never know..
New York: For the lawyers representing Ghislaine Maxwell, the best defence so far has been a scorching attack.

During the first two weeks of her trial, they’ve repeatedly challenged her accusers’ motives and their memories of events that may have occurred decades ago. But with the prosecution expected to rest its case soon, the spotlight now falls on the defence to offer the jury an alternative narrative of her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and also determine whether she should take the stand herself.

The defence said on Thursday it had not yet decided whether it would put on any witnesses, raising the possibility that the case could move directly to closing arguments as soon as next week. If so, Maxwell’s team can be expected to urge jurors to see their client as a scapegoat for Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting his own sex-trafficking trial.

But the defence must also show Maxwell is not Epstein. That may be a challenge given the long, obviously close and highly lucrative relationship she had with him. Prosecutors showed jurors a series of photos of them together as a couple, and also put former Epstein employees on the stand who said she was his “lady of the house” and “No. 2.” A JPMorgan Chase & Co. banker testified on Monday that Epstein transferred more than $30 million to Maxwell between 1999 and 2007.

Cheryl Bader, a professor at Fordham Law School, said Maxwell faces a difficult choice. “The defence’s main strategy is to discredit prosecution witnesses, put Epstein centre stage and draw as little attention to Maxwell as possible,” she said. “To keep with that strategy, they may want to keep her off the stand and not risk that she makes her situation worse on cross-examination.”

A major concern for the defence is how jurors will react to Maxwell. “If the jury thinks Maxwell is trying to manipulate them, they will punish her,” said Bader.

“On the other hand, it will be difficult to convince the jury that Maxwell was just another of Epstein’s victims if she doesn’t testify. It’s a tough gamble, but I think it is likely she will stay silent.

Maxwell also faces two perjury charges for lying under oath in a civil lawsuit and prosecutors could cross-examine her on those if she takes stand.

QUILTY 5 out of 6!!!
A New York City jury found that Maxwell was Epstein’s chief enabler, recruiting and grooming young girls for him to abuse. The twelve jurors found Maxwell guilty on five of the six charges she faced, which included: conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts; conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity; transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity; sex trafficking conspiracy; sex trafficking of a minor.

Well, that was entertaining. Next up, the Guiffre v Prince Andrew civil suit.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... well-trial

Now Andrew must brace for the next round in the civil case against him, with the US district judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan scheduling a 4 January hearing when the royal’s lawyers are expected to argue for a dismissal of the case. If they are not successful, or if the case is not settled, it is expected to go for trial between September and December 2022.

A step in the right direction for a change. I wonder if the "Randy Andy " case will ever get to court.

That should have been done before the trial. I think she has lost that opportunity.
