Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

You are forewarned: As a measure of respect for the late Prince Norodom Ranariddh , bars and entertainment centers will be closed for one day tomorrow, 8 December, 2021.

Tourism Ministry announces nationwide one-day karaoke, club, bar and alcohol ban on December 8

The Ministry of Tourism advised the owners or managers of karaoke, entertainment clubs, bars and beer gardens across the country to suspend business for one day, on December 8, to join the national mourning on the death of Prince Norodom Ranariddh.

The ministry also advised other business owners, such as restaurants and tourist canteens, to suspend alcohol sales on November 8.

The Ministry has instructed the Director of the Capital-Provincial Department of Tourism to disseminate and educate the owners or managers of the above tourism service businesses to implement the business suspension in accordance with this circular effectively and responsibly.

Norodom Ranariddh died at the age of 77 in France on the morning of November 28.

He was born on January 2, 1944, the second son of Prince Norodom Sihanouk and his wife, Phat Kanoul. He was the first Prime Minister from 1993 to 1997 and was the President of the National Assembly from 1998 to 2006.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has designated December 8, as a day of national mourning, requiring all ministries, institutions, schools, hospitals, public, private and all civil servants of the Armed Forces, pagodas, as well as people all over the country, to fly the flag at half mast.

At the same time, all national and private radio and television stations must suspend their performances and broadcast various spectacular scenes in order to pay their respects to the late Prince.

FFS doc, get a grip. 24h without bar girls should be feasible. :beer2:
From what they say, restaurants should still be open, (people have to eat), but no music, singing, nudity (I'm joking), or obvious frivolities allowed.

Don’t make it worse! The poor fella thought it was just the one day- between brekkie and brushing one’s teeth before turning in, it seemed manageable. But 24hrs?!

On the upside, I don’t think they specifically restrict companionship…

It's not about the slappers, it's much more important than that - it's about the cricket!

The 1st day of an Ashes series has to be marked with a good liquid lunch and get the vibe of things, often the harbinger of the outcome of the series.

With England currently 31/4 and having lost a wicket with the first ball of the series, things are not looking rosy.
