big russian festival/rave heading for SHV

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

big russian festival/rave heading for SHV

Post by clippy »

anyone heard of this upcoming event ?

kazantip, is held in the summer on a peninsular in Ukraine. it goes on for about a month, not really about big name bands or DJs but seems to be a bit burning man esque, an independent temporay republic of lunacy

coming to sihanoukville in febuary, the island with the bridge to be exact.

sounds like carnage

I was talking to a guy who had checked out the site and he was saying it didn't look at all workable or feasible site for thousands. The Ruble will keep #s down or get it canceled probably.

oh i missed that thread, whats that in the rest of the world section for? its in cambodia

burning man goes on in an even more unhospitable location. and cash gets things done here in cambo, so maybe it will go ahead.
Are visiting dignitaries from other nations welcome at Kazantip? What would you say if Vladimir Putin wanted to visit?
Nikita: It is odd that Vladimir Putin yet has not found time to visit us, but we have a lot of mutual friends who come to Kazantip every year. Each time they return, they are probably sharing all the positive impressions, photos and souvenirs with him. I have a proposal to move all official summits from Sochi to Kazantip, because it's a magical place of power.

This.
Ravers/etc are fairly notorious for spending their last dime to go to a big party in horrid locations.

Detroit Music Festival is a prime example as well.
