Authorities investigating murder of Chinese national
Authorities in Preah Sihanouk are investigating the murder of a Chinese man who was murdered in his own apartment.

According to police report, the man was murdered in his rented home in BLUE SKY Borey, Village 5, Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk. The body of the man was found at 3:20 on December 4 at the location.

The man was identified as Jike Munai, a 21-year-old Chinese male. He held a passport with the number ED3603200 and an undisclosed address.

The man was found with three bullet wounds, all on the legs. After conducting examination, the forensic doctor and other professionals concluded that he died from his gunshot wounds. They also found shell casings at the scene that matched with the bullets fired at the man.

The body was taken to the morgue to wait for the family and next of kin to retrieve it for funerary processes.

Police are currently looking into the case and investigating the perpetrators of the crime.

Authorities are searching for the suspect in the shooting death of a Chinese man in Sihanoukville.

Cambodia News, (Preah Sihanouk Province):On the afternoon of December 7, 2021, the police said that they are now hunting, investigating and searching for the suspect(s) who shot and killed a Chinese man in a rented room in Blue Sky Borey in Village 5, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province on December 4, 2021.
According to the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Chuon Narin confirmed that he was ordering his forces to continue the investigation into this case as a premeditated murder.

According to the autopsy at the scene, the body of the victim, a 21-year-old Chinese man named JIKE MUNAI, was found dead on the floor of his apartment. He had been shot several times in the legs in the knees and thighs; police found three bullet casings at the scene to support this conclusion.
Police Commissioner Major General Chuon Narin confirmed that the body of the victim has been taken to the Sihanoukville Provincial Referral Hospital. The investigation is on-going.

UPDATE: Two Arrests !

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh) On December 19, 2021, police arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a Chinese national in Sihanoukville. The arrests were conducted at 11:15am at Borey Peng Huoth, Boeung Chhouk Village, Sangkat Niroth, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh, and the police raid was led by Colonel Kheng Meng Chheang, under the coordination of Mr. Sith Vannak, Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.

The two suspects arrested were, LI HONGBO, alias Popo, a Chinese national, and MI POV, a Vietnamese woman. The murder case under investigation concerned the shooting of a Chinese national, which happened on 4 December 2021, at 13:30 in BLUE SKY House No. A252, Village 5, Commune 4, Preah Sihanouk Province.
At that time, the deceased, JIKE MUNAI, was found lying dead in a room on a couch with blood on the floor and three wounds on both thighs.


According to investigations, the victim JIKE MUNAI was not the tenant of the apartment where he was found murdered. The real tenants of the place were Mi Pov, a woman who originates from La Ban Siek commune, Banlung city, Ratanakkiri province, and her Chinese boyfriend, LI HONG BO, who escaped after the incident, before being tracked down by police.

Currently, the two suspects named above were brought to the Criminal Police Department in Phnom Penh and have now been handed over to the specialized forces of Sihanoukville Provincial Police for further proceedings.
