PDFs Fight to Rescue Female Medics Captured by Myanmar Junta Forces
https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/pd ... orces.htmlCivilian resistance groups are still trying to rescue nine female civilian fighters captured by the junta earlier this week in Sagaing Region’s Kale Township.
With tensions rising in the township, local People’s Defense Forces (PDF) have warned residents not to travel on the Gangaw-Kale Road, which is used by junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee, a militia group trained and armed by the military regime.
On Tuesday, junta soldiers raided a base where over 20 civilian resistance fighters from the Kale PDF Battalion 3 were staying. Two male fighters and ten female members of the PDF’s medical team were at the base at the time of the raid.
National Unity Government calls on INTERPOL to review junta’s invitation to 89th General Assembly
https://www.myanmar-now.org/en/news/nat ... th-generalThe Myanmar delegation is to be led by junta police chief Lt-Gen Than Hlaing, who stands accused of major rights violations under international law
Canada, the EU, UK and US have sanctioned Than Hlaing for his role overseeing the junta’s crackdown on the public, in which more than 1,200 civilians have been killed and more than 10,000 arrested, according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, which has been monitoring the ongoing repression.
The EU sanctions designation stated that Than Hlaing is “directly responsible for decision making concerning repressive policies and violent actions committed by police against peaceful demonstrators and is therefore responsible for serious human rights violations in Myanmar/Burma.”

https://www.myanmar-now.org/en/news/reg ... least-fiveRegime forces plowed into a crowd of protesters in Yangon’s Kyimyindaing Township early Sunday morning, killing at least five before arresting around 15 others.
Witnesses told Myanmar Now that the incident occurred minutes after a flash mob formed at around 9am to demand an end to military rule.
Video footage of the incident shows a vehicle speeding past cars as it approached the protesters, who can be seen scattering seconds before impact. Moments later, the sound of gunfire can be heard over the screams and shouts of the protesters.
“The car accelerated and rammed into the protesters. Four or five were thrown into the air,” said a member of the protest group that organized the demonstration.

Incoming ASEAN Chair HE ‘Willing to Visit Myanmar
https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/in ... anmar.htmlCambodian Prime Minister HE said he is ready to visit military-ruled Myanmar, which would make him the first head of government to meet the leaders of the regime, which has been internationally denounced for its coup and bloody crackdowns on protesters.
More importantly, the proposed visit also raises questions over whether the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)’s unified stand on Myanmar will last, now that Cambodia has taken over the chairmanship of the 10-member regional bloc. Relations between ASEAN and Myanmar turned sour recently when the bloc broke with precedent and excluded the junta’s leader Min Aung Hlaing from its summit in October after he failed to honor his commitments to ASEAN to solve the country’s political crisis.
Meanwhile resistance continues,
KIA clashes with junta soldiers in Hpakant and Mohnyin
The fighting comes a week after the junta launched airstrikes in KIA territory
The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) clashed with the Myanmar military in Hpakant and Mohnyin townships on Wednesday, a little under a week after the junta launched airstrikes against the rebel group in Mohnyin.
About 50 soldiers from the junta’s Infantry Battalion 42 attacked KIA territory near Nyaung Htauk village in Mohnyin at around 8am, said Colonel Naw Bu, the KIA’s information officer.
“We were only defending against them; they were heading towards our base on the ground,” he told Myanmar Now. The territory is under the control of the KIA’s Brigade 9.
https://www.myanmar-now.org/en/news/kia ... nd-mohnyinThere was a third clash on Wednesday near Kwingyi village between Mohnyin and Nanmar townships, but Myanmar Now was unable to gather further details.
Locals have estimated that some 30 soldiers died in two of Wednesday’s clashes but Myanmar Now was unable to verify this. The junta rarely comments publicly on clashes in Kachin State.
The KIA has teamed up with newly formed resistance groups of the People’s Defence Force to attack junta targets in the townships of Shweku, Katha, Htigyaing, Kawlin and Wuntho in recent months.

U.S. Embassy Burma
@USEmbassyBurma
We are horrified by reports that security forces opened fire against, ran over, and killed several peaceful protesters this morning in Yangon. We support the right of the people of Burma to protest peacefully. https://go.usa.gov/xevYh
Anyone out there care??
"I got hit and fell down in front of a truck. A soldier beat me with his rifle but I defended and pushed him back. Then he immediately shot at me as I ran away in a zig-zag pattern. Fortunately, I escaped," a protester told
@Reuters by phone.
They are the murders who killed the protesters by hitting them with a car and abducted the protesters

UN Special Rapporteur Tom Andrews
@RapporteurUn
The proceeding that today convicted Aung San Suu Kyi should not be confused with a trial—it is theatre of the absurd. She, and thousands of others, are guilty only in a system of injustice that punishes those who exercise the basic human right to speak and assemble freely.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/ ... incitementA military court in Myanmar has found Aung San Suu Kyi guilty of incitement and breaking Covid restrictions, drawing condemnation from the US, United Nations, European Union and others, who described the verdicts as politically motivated.
The 76-year-old, who was deposed in a coup in February, is set to serve two years in detention at an undisclosed location, a sentence reduced from four years after a partial pardon from the country’s military chief, state TV reported.
Meanwhile;
Cambodian PM HE met with Myanmar's Foreign Minister this morning.
BANNER SAYS : “The Spirit of the Revolutionaries will not be stopped by hitting people with vehicles or shooting them with guns.”

Myanmar Regime Makes Military Training Compulsory for Soldiers' Children
Myanmar Regime Makes Military Training Compulsory for Soldiers' Children
https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/my ... ldren.htmlMyanmar’s military has made it mandatory for children of its personnel to undergo military training as it seeks to prepare reserve forces, despite such training being against both Myanmar and international law.
Since April, any male or female child over the age of 15 and able to hold a gun has been forced to undergo military training in various units across the country, according to parents of the children.
However, Myanmar’s Child Rights Law expressly prohibits providing military training to children with the intention of using them to serve in the military, as does the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, said one child rights activist.
“It is against international law to train children for military purposes and to use them in fighting,” said the activist.

Today is human rights day:
Despite being neglected by U.S. Summit for Democracy, Burmese people are fighting for their democratic future on their own. People are now waging a silent strike against the junta across the country. Roads are clear, markets and shops closed, & businesses not in operation today.

https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/my ... junta.htmlTimed to coincide with Human Rights Day, which falls on Dec. 10, the strike is the Myanmar people’s deliberate attempt to defy the regime and make clear that it has no authority to rule their lives and activities. A slogan associated with the strike proclaims: “We own our town. Staying active or silent is our choice. They [the regime] shall absolutely never be allowed to rule.”

Myanmar junta destroys several Christian buildings and plants bombs everywhere in Southern Chin State, making its residents fear for their lives returning homes
Places of religious worship, including temples & churches, continued to be destroyed by shelling and indiscriminate firing by the military junta. In #Chin, the junta has planted landmines around church compounds. Destruction of property is a serious crime.
The junta first shelled heavy weapons against the town targeting residential properties in June and November, damaging several properties, including four Christian religious buildings.
The home of Gospel’s Baptist Church has been completely destroyed after being shelled by a rocket-propelled grenade and small weapons, and all properties inside have been taken away before it was destroyed.

Junta troops raided Kebar Village in Sagaing’s Ayadaw Township on Monday and torched houses. The village has around 100 households; almost all the houses were destroyed in the fire, residents said.
NO International condemnation?? WTF
Cost of war: Myanmar rebels crowdfund resistance to military coup
From a small city in Northeast Asia, the woman known only as Burmese Beast is crowdfunding the resistance to the Myanmar military government.
https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2021/ ... e-to-juntaWorking on her iPad while listening to podcasts like the BBC’s You’re Dead to Me, the assistant professor in her 30s organises fundraising campaigns on social media, offering to draw portraits in exchange for money she then donates to the cause of opposing the military government.
Burmese Beast, who left Myanmar more than a decade ago, has sent funds to humanitarian aid workers, striking civil servants and, more recently, the People’s Defence Force (PDF), the armed wing of the National Unity Government (NUG), the parallel administration formed by politicians removed from power in February’s military coup. Both groups have been labelled terrorist organisations by the military regime in Naypyidaw, which is officially known as the State Administration Council (SAC).
“As a fundraiser, I have been in touch with a lot of young people who joined the PDF and they are doing it because they feel hopeless about their futures, not because they are violent or have thirst for blood,” said Burmese Beast, who insists people have been left with no choice but to take up arms against the coup leaders and the forces backing them up.
“I do not condone violence, nor do I feel happiness when I read news about SAC soldiers dying.”
