Where to go in Bangkok?

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Where to go in Bangkok?

Post by Doc67 »

I have a mate going to Bangkok on 16th December for about 2 weeks, then onto PP.

Where is open in Bangkok for...erm...gentlemen's activities? Are things back to normal apart from the booze ban after 9pm?

He is staying near Patpong on Surawong Road. He knows his way around there very well, just wants to know what is going on at the moment.

All advice gratefully received.

I'm a long-time retiree from the night circuit, but I know that as of tomorrow, restaurants can serve drinks until 11 pm and "bars" can get a food licence and serve too. The wonder!

I am informed that lots of girly places are well stocked, from the soi 7 Biergarten to Sukhumvit Soi 4 (Soi Nana) to Soi 8 and Soi 22. Booze and girls have been served openly along many of the single digit sois and into the double digit sois (and well into the night). Just have to wander and look for the lights and action.

Cowboy is locked and shuttered, even the police owned places -- though that could change soonish.

From what I heard and read, Patpong is dead and almost buried. But there could be one or two places with the goods. Also, many hunters are having a field day with those "dating" apps.

That's all I can offer.

This news just in: The government just announced foreigners arriving in Thailand will still have to get an RT-PCR test before being released. Change their mind because of the omicron variant. Was supposed to be switched to an ATK test Dec. 16. It has now been withdrawn.

Hi Folks, do we know if the short time hotels are open.
Obviously after I arrive if will give you all the low down.
For now I’m wondering where to head to.
Pedalling slow in the fast lane.

Monkey? Damn. Never saw that.

Last year, took a young Aussie friend there. He was suitably impressed.

It really was a beer 'garden' back then with a real garden and a menagerie of animals including a monkey..poor thing was tied up on a line that allowed it to go back and forth.. Then of course they just concreted it all in for extra bar tables and chairs.

Same the old 'Thermae' was a hidden gem unlike the the latest one..

Heck, back then Nana Plaza had a car park in the middle...go figure!

They never really closed, not even during lockdowns.

And the beer garden (Biergarten) parrot left for Pattaya so it seems ...
