Feared Suicide was Distracted Drunk Woman with Boyfriend Problem Who Left Bag and Shoes on Chroy Changva Bridge

Much ado about nothing on Chroy Changvar bridge last night. Flat battery, flat brain.
(Note that this bridge is notorious for the number of suicides committed here.)

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh) During the early hours of 27 November 2021, a woman by the name of Mak Ya Bee was found to have left her bag and shoes on the Chroy Changvar bridge, and, according to her friends, it was suspected that she jumped into the river, probably because she was upset with her boyfriend. Despite that, many of her friends did not believe that she jumped to her death.

After the incident, a woman with a Facebook account named Kanha Kanha, who is a close friend to the lady posted on her Facebook account pleading for the woman to come home. This caused shock and worry to many people (who knew the lady) as they waited for hours searching for the body by boat. However, a few hours later, Mak Ya Bee posted a message on her Facebook account, saying "I'm fine, sorry, last night my phone ran out of battery."

Separately, Ngov Dalin posted on her Facebook account upon seeing the news saying "Perform again eh? Miss…. Guess what, a wrong prank is wrong... who would break up with her sisters and jumped into the water just because of a man? Sorry, friends, last night we were too drunk to sit on the bridge and had to breathe some fresh air. We forgot to bring our bags and shoes. The phone ran out of battery, which worries everyone…."

Seems like a case of drunken attention seeking gone wrong and blew up more than the girl imagined.

I've never seen anyone sit on the bridge drunk/drinking, this is definitely an attention thing. Pray for the man in her life or both of them because he probably acts the exact same way.
