Cambodia News (Kandal) On 24 November 2021, the Kandal Provincial Police conducted a search and arrest operation in which 4 suspects were arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly man, Chhem Cha, in a shooting which took place on 20 November 2021 at 6:20 p.m. at Thmey village, Sanlong commune, Khsach Kandal district, Kandal province.

According to authorities, the suspects killed the victim because the victim tracked them down for distributing drugs and used to frequently spy on them. Two of the suspects, An Meng Leng, Ang Raksmey, and their cronies were seen distributing and using drugs at the Ping Pong Bamboo Plantation in Dol village. When An Meng Leng realised that he had been followed by Chhem Chate, he hatched a plan to kill Chhem Chate, lying in wait to kill him with a K59 handgun.
Kandal provincial police have arrested 4 suspects in connection with the murder, but are still looking for the one suspect who escaped.

At the time the case was reported, district and provincial police arrived at the scene to find that the victim had a wound on the right chest, the left eyebrow, right earlobe, a scar on the left ear and another scar on the back of his head.
Upon autopsy of the victim, it was confirmed that the case was one of murder, and an investigation was launched under the directions of the Prosecutor of Kandal Provincial Court, Kandal Provincial Police Commissioner and the Kandal Provincial Gendarmerie, in which operation 4 suspects were arrested, while one man escaped and is still being sought by police.

The poor bloke obviously didn't realise what he was dealing with - hard case lowlife crims on meth - but not sure how he missed that.
Perhaps they drove him mad? Or maybe there is more to the story??

According to the police, the reason the suspects shot the above victim named Cham Chah was allegedly because the victim was tracking them while they were using and selling drugs.
