How bargirls survived during covid

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

In what way? All the girls did more than one of the activities to generate income.

Never realized that working in a bar in Cambodia paid so well for some
Looking at the alleged variety of sources of income, one could think working in a bar is just a sideline for some of these girls..

1st table seems many were doing more than 1 listed , ie 31 worked in a bar and went with customers out of 25 girls surveyed.???
whats the dif between a bf overseas and a customer overseas?
both were getting nothing for their $$
They would stay loyal to the boyfriend of course. Can only have ine boyfriend, but they can have all the customers they possible. At the same time.
:please:
A Bar girl working in a bar will stay loyal?
where the fuck were you born?

She'd have to, or risk a breakup. I've been living here for almost 6 months, so I know the way of the land. I'm virtually a local.

Absolutely correct Image. Two surveys were incorrectly completed so weren’t included. The total number of girls is indeed 23. I can’t amend the original post.

Yes you’re right to a degree. Years ago before social media the girls were much more loyal to the bar and almost all their income was generated directly through the bar.
These days with instant online banking and multiple social media apps, for many girls the bar is just a vehicle to generate some initial customers who can then be communicated with online to provide a good source of funds. Or to find a relatively wealthy local expat ‘boyfriend’ who will take them out of the bar and set them up in the expat’s apartment.
Some of the girls are very busy online juggling various ‘sponsors’ and arranging daytime ‘meetings’ with guys.

Did they also survived because of some sanitary precautions, by chance ?

Before Covid you could see real stunners in the bars at riverside. Pretty girls, 27-33, well mannered.. not losing time with different customer every night. They were waiting for "naive right" ones. :) After Covid you can only see some "sort out" young girls. I was asking my friend, who has "PHD in barlosophy" where all that pretty girls have gone? He suggested that they all have a sugar daddies and went to live in the provinces. Logical answer me think.
Are they back already? Asking for a friend...

It's been almost two years that girlie-bars, KTVs, and beer gardens have been open/shut for the people working there. I have a lot of respect for the women who are still trying to keep their family going, by whatever (legal) means. It's not easy.

If that means that a Cambodian woman is asking a foreigner to send her money, and the foreigner agrees to do this, then who are we to judge their agreement ? Stuff between adults should remain between adults. IMO.

It's funny coz years ago before Mrs Cargo made a decent man out of me, I used to occasionally frequent Angeles City in the PI and the bars there at the time were severe to what they called 'sneak outs' ie bar girls doing business outside bar working hours. No doubt coz this amounted to lost revenue for the bars. If such girls were caught out being with a customer during the day by one of the other staff, they would be in trouble and fined by the bar owner.
