Cambodia News, THAILAND: A Cambodian worker died of asphyxiation while diving to find shells at the bottom of a deep seabed when the boat's oxygen blower stopped working.
This tragic accident happened at 2 pm on November 17, 2021 at a point in the sea in Phat, Chonburi Province, Thailand, causing the death of a Cambodian worker named Long Sareang, 41 years old.
A fellow Cambodian worker named Pich Komar, male, 37 years old, said that at 10 am, they both went to the deep sea to find shells and other things on the ocean bottom. The sea there is about 7 meters deep.

Mr. Pich Komar and Mr. Long Sareang dived to the bottom of the sea using a rope dropped from the boat and equipped with an oxygen tube to send air pumped by the engine on the boat while they both dived to the bottom . However, suddenly the engine stopped working, so the divers could no longer breathe.
Mr. Pich Komar said that after realizing that he had run out of oxygen, he pulled the rope tied to the boat and jumped to the surface, while the dead victim did not pull the rope because he had swum away from it. His diving campanion went back to search for him, but the man was already dead when he found him.
RIP
