New Year's Plans?

Post by redhooligan »

With the dreaded Christian/mid-winter pagan holiday come and gone, what are your plans for the new Gregorian calendar observatory evening in Phnom Penh?

Any special happenings planned at any of the bars that don't cost an arm and a leg? Or will it be just another evening of booze, drugs, girls, and the like?

I've always personally enjoyed NYE more than Christmas-- the promise of a New Year, resolutions that make you feel better about yourself, only to be broken that night or the next morning, the month or so it takes you to get used to writing a new number on forms and papers and the parties of my youth that were always better than the week's before.

While a frequent visitor in the past, this will be my first NYE in the city. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Pretty much every bar/club in town will have some sort of new years bash with drink specials...not much different from a regular night out on the town in PP.

I personally hate new year and the parties which surround it, but luckily this year when the clock strikes 12, I'll be two hours into a 13 hour flight. So i don't need to give some lame excuse as to why I didn't go out. Hopefully they give us champagne. I know I'll be boozing up whether they like it or not.
