Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of 6 November 202, police in Phsar Kandal I, Daun Penh district, arrested an American* suspected of stealing a security guard’s mobile phone while it was being charged in Shenanigans Guesthouse. The suspect is a 40-year-old U.S. citizen, Saydee Morgan* , while the victim is a 37-year-old security guard at the guesthouse named Vong Chet.

According to police, the incident occurred on 1 November 2021, at 3 pm, when the suspect stole the victim's mobile phone while it was charging at the guesthouse reception area. It was not until 3:00 pm of 6 November 2021 that the victim filed a complaint against the suspect and handed him over to the Kandal Market 1 police station for investigation.

Evidences involved in the incident include 2 mobile phones: a gold Samsung J7 series phone belonging to the suspect (confiscated by police), and a Black Redmi mobile phone with a SIM card number 010 708089 (which was reported lost).
The incident has been filed with the Daun Penh District Police Inspectorate for further legal action.

* The suspect is reported to be a US citizen, but he is holding a Liberian passport.
