RIFE International Bike Ride from Phnom Penh to Kampot Raises Money for Charities
November 7, 2021
145 kilometers charity ride to Kampot flagged off this dawn

A charity bicycle ride from Phnom Penh to Kampot was flagged off this morning from the Attwood Business Centre at Russian Federation Boulevard at 5am this morning. [7 Nov].
More than 100 riders from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Cambodia and a handful of other nationalities joined the ride which is organised to raise money for several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that are working with orphans and other less-fortunate children in Cambodia.
The Ride It For Essentials (RIFE) involved a 145-kilometre bike ride from Phnom Penh to Kampot with a stop at the midway point before continuing onto Kampot province and on Monday, some riders will continue to Boor Mountain before making the return trip to Phnom Penh, said Dan Lim, when speaking on behalf of the organisers.
“Today, we are witnessing a fun ride as part of a beautiful and rewarding journey of making a positive impact and creating a difference to those who really need you,” Dan Lim, managing director of KIAN Contract Cambodia.
Sok Khemarin, chief of the Ministry of Interior’s penal police department, a rider himself, flagged of the two groups of riders this morning and said this was a noble and worthy cause which will help the unfortunate as well as help promote the 2023 SEA Games to be held in Phnom Penh.
Lim of KIAN Contract Cambodia, a leading furniture store in the country and one of the event organisers said they have surpassed the targeted $15,000 to be raised for three NGOs working with underprivileged children.
These organisations are Social Families & Orphans Development Association, Kumnit Kumar Organization and Kompong Speu Orphans Center.
