Chaos as Machete Man Attacks Citizens in Phnom Penh Street

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): An incident happened at 8 pm on November 5, 2021 at the corner of Street 271 and Street 182 in Sangkat Toek Laak III, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh, where sources at the scene witnessed a man armed with a machete chasing people and pedestrians off the street, causing a sudden panic amongst the public.

Teuk Thla district civilians and police intervened and arrested the perpetrator, but suffered injuries. One of the persons who tackled the attacker was hacked by a machete by the perpetrator and suffered serious injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that the man who committed the act was homeless, and due to excessive use of drugs he became unaware of his actions. The injured parties, including the perpetrator who was beaten up by the people in the vicinity, were sent to the hospital for treatment.

Brave citizen to tackle a man wielding a machete - extremely brave. I hope he receives money for his medical expenses and some kind of accolade.

It happened about 2 years ago where I live....The homeless guy spends most of the time walking up the middle of the road...Turning suddenly...and basically doing this most of the day and night....People give him cigarettes, money and food ....And then 2 years ago he ran up and down the street with a meat cleaver,chopping up spirit houses to begin with and threatening everyone who came near....Nobody really tried to stop him either...And after more than an hour he was finally tackled....
And now he is back....Sleeping across the street and business as usual on my street corner...People give him money all the time...Just a matter of time before he goes haywire again....or gets seriously injured/ injured others in a traffic accident...

Yes, it's fked up that there is no real help with mental health issues for the poor or homeless. It seems that they get locked up for a while when they are violent or a public nuisance, but then they are released back on to the street, and nothing improves for them or for society in general.

Sounds more like Paris, two knife attacks in the last couple of weeks. One bloke shouted allhu akbar, the police are still investigating the motives ?
