Cambodia News (Kandal Province): On October 26, 2021, at 7:30 pm in Kompong Toul village, Anlong Romeat commune, Kandal Steung district, a 39-year-old husband, Pech Vichet, was accused of murdering his 40-year-old wife, Kem Pov, before he eventually ended his own life.
The police autopsy showed that the victim, who was slashed on the throat with a 14x16cm open wound, died instantly at the crime scene, while the murderer also slashed his own throat with a 3x8cm open wound and died at the hospital. The weapon used was a 21cm knife.

According to the children, before the incident, they heard their parents arguing and started fighting. The oldest son went to check on them, and he found his mother being attacked and slashed on the throat. The kid ran to call for help from the neighbors, but by the time that they arrived, both the parents were already in critical states. They called the police and the ambulance immediately; they later found out that both the couple died from their injuries.

Neighbors speculated that the crime was due to jealousy, as the husband used to accuse his wife of talking to other men online. Furthermore, the murderer told the neighbors to look after their children and said goodbye to them before the crime.
Police confirmed that there will be no further investigation, and the bodies of both the victim and murderer were given to the family for the funerals.
