Cambodia News (Sihanoukville): According to the authorities, on the morning of October 14, in Steung Hav district, a 0.80 x 1.8m bottlenose dolphin, weighing about 100kg was discovered dead, washed up on the beach at Prek Traeng.

The authorities said that this species of dolphin is becoming rare due to fishing practices, and in Cambodian waters, they mostly live in the Pring island area between the Khem beach, Ream beach, and Koh Rong island.
These dolphins need to be protected and preserved, but in this case the cause of death was drowning in a fishing net set up by the fishermen. The dolphin was buried by the authorities.
