Vaccination card ruling causes confusion in capital among traders and their customers
A City Hall ruling on vaccination cards has provoked a mixed reaction from local and foreign business operators in Phnom Penh.

The capital’s Governor Khuong Sreng issued an edict on Oct 5 saying a Covid-19 vaccination card needed to be presented every time when entering and leaving educational institutions, markets and business locations. The ruling applies to all business premises and there are no concessions for people who have not been vaccinated.

“No one is exempted, even those with a medical certificate from the Ministry of Health,” Sreng said this week. “I understand that in practice international vaccine documents are accepted for entry: This is in practice,” said Anthony Galliano, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia. He added that pregnant women and people with underlying health conditions who have not been vaccinated would face problems if the ruling is applied as strictly as the governor’s comments suggest.

“We have raised these issues to the government and more particularly to the representatives of the Ministry of Tourism,” said Arnaud Darc, president of the Cambodia Restaurant Association. “They are aware and working toward finding solutions to all of these issues.”

One local small business owner who sells clothes in a central Phnom Penh market said she had not been vaccinated because of her allergies. “I have been told customers will not be allowed into the market without a card. They are taking it really seriously this time,” said the woman, nicknamed Nana, who did not wish to be named. “I have not been asked to show a vaccination certificate yet. I don’t know what I’ll do if they ask. I can’t afford to shut down my stall.”

It's a good job and good choice to have the J&J vaccine. I had been trying myself, sourced in, or just outside Prey Vang, but told under no circumstance's should I cross the province border coming from Phnom Penh.
One of the main reasons you have basically quoted, travel and proof of vaccine and vaccination. That may turn out to be a problem or not, for example what countries except the Chinese vaccines, I was told recently that my own country, the UK does not.

I paid the Royal PP $231.50 for a Covid test they insisted on doing prior to surgery. That was $190 for the test and $41.50 for the bits and pieces.
If they do a vaccination, they may well also charge for the doctor fee, nursing fee, syringe, needle, bandaid etc etc.
Unless the 250-300 is an all-inclusive package, I would expect to be getting billed for $600+, after all the add-ons.

Most of us would rather pay that price than receive a sinovax, but that's a different conversation.

Its a scam - given the absolutely minute odds of getting the virus (you have more chance of being kicked to death by a donkey in the Andes, and that assumes you never visit the Andes) why would you pay for something you will never need? You can get a free Sinovac to get a card which is all you need to prevent minor hassles in shops etc, but if you want a real vaccine because you are terrified of getting Covid you would be better off staying home with a plastic bag over your head.

It looks like a huge price hike, lets be honest did you expect those prices per vaccine that are quoted in this thread. If so, I wonder where the price falls in the most expensive covid19 vaccines in the countries of the world.

If it's going in the direction that you have to be vaccinated before getting on a flight, it's irrelevant if its cheaper than a flight. But also taking a flight onwards from here, it leaves everyone to have the correct vaccines that are excepted in the country that we would travel too.
Too be honest you gave a good answer, about insurance, I had never thought of that, is it possible, would most insurance companies accept the client to have a covid vaccine at their expense, and that of an exceptional high price in a developing country.

Why would anyone get the free sinoxxx when you can just purchase a far superior vaccine? If you have the funds I don't see the problem? It's like driving a Camry vs a Mercedes when you're a millionaire
